Bars and Nightlife in Córdoba

From the traditional bodega to the modern cocktail bar, LGBT-friendly venues to rooftop terraces: discover Córdoba's authentic nightlife.

The old bodegas in the Judería still pour fino and amontillado straight from barrels behind the counter — around €2 a glass, stools if you're lucky. Worth knowing about before you spend €12 on a cocktail elsewhere. That said, the cocktail bars around Plaza de la Corredera are genuinely good, with Montilla-Moriles wines turning up in unexpected places. For tapas, the streets near the Mezquita fill up from 8pm; go deeper into the Judería for quieter and cheaper. Córdoba's nightlife winds down earlier than Seville's or Málaga's, but there's plenty if you know where to look.

In Córdoba, your beer or wine comes with a free tapa — no extra charge, no asking, just the way it works.

Montilla-Moriles, produced just 40 km south, pours cheaper here than anywhere — and the locals drink it before tourists discovered it.

A small but serious cocktail scene has settled around the Judería and Tendillas, mixing well beyond gin-tonic territory.

Craft cervecerías have opened across the centro, though most Cordobeses still reach for a cold caña of Cruzcampo on a hot afternoon.

A handful of rooftop bars look out over the old medina — the best ones face the Mezquita bell tower, especially useful at golden hour.

Córdoba has a serious flamenco tradition — the Guitar Festival each July is the marker — and a few bars keep live performances going year-round.

Copas bars don't fill up before 1 am; the action concentrates around Plaza de la Corredera and the streets east toward the Axerquía.

A loose cluster of LGBT-friendly bars runs through the Corredera and Tendillas areas, busy on weekends from around midnight.
