On this page

The Eurostars Conquistador is 50 metres from the Mezquita-Catedral entrance, in the Judería, in a historic building whose central patio — columns, fountains, geometric mosaics — echoes the noble mansions of the Caliphal era. Horseshoe arches run along the arcade. The whole ground floor reads like a reference to Córdoba's Arab-Andalusian past, which makes sense given where it sits.

Rooms

The 62 rooms blend contemporary comfort with traditional touches: wrought-iron headboards, artisan tilework, geometric-patterned textiles. Standard doubles are adequately sized; the suites have separate sitting areas and some include private terraces overlooking the Mezquita. Air conditioning in all rooms is reliable — this matters when Córdoba hits 40°C in July. Wi-Fi is fast and free throughout. Bathrooms are well-equipped, with quality toiletries. The hotel's buffet breakfast features local Andalusian produce: olive oil from the sierra, Iberian charcuterie, fresh pastries.

The Rooftop

From the rooftop — open daily 8am to 11pm — the view over the old-town rooftops and the cathedral bell tower is genuinely good at sunset. The suites with private terraces look directly over the Mezquita walls; the shared rooftop is open to all guests for drinks in the evening. It's a solid place to watch the evening light change over one of the most extraordinary buildings in Europe.

Restaurant and Bar

The hotel has an on-site restaurant serving Andalusian dishes and an international menu at breakfast. The bar stays open late enough to be useful after an evening walk through the Judería. Room service is available.

The Neighbourhood

The Synagogue is 5 minutes away. Bar Santos — the tortilla is the reason to go — is 2 minutes. The Calleja de las Flores is 3 minutes. The surrounding lanes are the right streets to be in for the flowering patios in May, when private gardens in the Judería open to visitors.

Other Judería Options

For something more intimate, the Balcón de Córdoba has 10 rooms with a panoramic terrace even closer to the Mezquita — 20 metres. La Ermita Suites, Andalusia's only Monument Hotel, is in a 1412 building two minutes from the Mezquita. Las Casas de la Judería spans five interconnected 15th-century palaces. For a budget option right on the square, Hotel Mezquita faces the monument from €47/night.

Insider tips

Practical observations gathered the way a local journalist would keep them: short, specific, and more useful than brochure copy.

Best time

Go to the rooftop at sunset for the bell tower view

The rooftop is open daily until 11 pm. At sunset, the cathedral bell tower catches the last light while the old-town rooftops go golden. It's a genuinely good vantage point and most guests don't use it until evening drinks.

Room tip

Book a suite with a private terrace for direct Mezquita views

The suites with private terraces look over the Mezquita walls from about 50 metres away. At night, when the monument is illuminated, the view from your terrace is something no rooftop bar can match. Worth the upgrade for a special occasion.

Crowd tip

Book May for the Patio Festival — the Judería patios are on your doorstep

The hotel is in the middle of the Judería, where many private patios open to the public during the May festival. You can visit the best displays before breakfast and return after the day-trippers leave.
