Córdoba's compact historic centre — a UNESCO World Heritage Site measuring roughly one kilometre from the Mezquita to the northern Roman walls — is ideally suited to exploration on foot, but the range of guided tour formats allows visitors to calibrate their experience precisely. Free walking tours operate daily from the Mezquita forecourt, covering the Judería, Roman Bridge, Calahorra Tower and main plazas in around two hours. Bicycle tours extend the range to the Alcázar gardens, Botanical Garden and the riverside path along the Guadalquivir, covering more ground with less effort in the heat. Horse-drawn carriage tours (calèche) follow routes through the Judería and around the Mezquita that have been used since the 19th century, offering a different pace and perspective. Tuk-tuk tours combine the visibility of a bicycle with the shade of a covered vehicle. Night tours — by foot or by carriage — reveal the Mezquita and Roman Bridge spectacularly illuminated, transforming familiar monuments into something entirely different under the Andalusian sky.
